During our lunch time tech clubs and some IT classes we've been exploring the use of Minecraft as an educational tool.
In case you've not heard of Minecraft it is a simple looking game, graphically, however its strengths lie in its infinitely manipulative environment.
Imagine this; placing a class of students into a virtual world that you've created with restricted resources and tasks. Their job is to create a sustainable environment where each participant must have all their essential needs met. What happens when there's not enough food? How do you handle someone who's being selfish with supplies? Who's a standout leader?
That's the power of Minecraft EDU.

I was recently sent this resource by Dan Martinez over at St Albans Meadows Primary School. It's a fantastic tutorial on Minecraft in educational settings. http://classroom-aid.com/2013/05/12/short-introduction-to-minecraft-pedagogy/
