Something we'd love to see would be a game or program within the Oculus Rift virtual reality unit that covers a range of situations so that students like ours could be role-played and prepared for the real thing when it comes, thus reducing anxiety and other issues. The program could cover things such as, traveling in different vehicles/transport, visiting different outdoor settings and also visiting different social or life settings e.g. doctors, zoos etc. If these could be setup in with some degree of interactions with commonly found people and events then potentially you have an ideal role-playing/social story program.
On the teachers end what we would like to add to something like this is extra sensory integration with smells and touch e.g. cold air-conditioning in a snow setting or some cold/frozen items to touch, a spray bottle in the case of a rain simulator or even a simple heater when down at a beach setting.
Obviously there is going to be a lot to be considered before getting something like this to become a virtual reality, but having played some immersive programs on the Rift already (underwater, space, mystical house) there is too much good that could be gained out something like this.
